Checkout fraud evokes new solutions

The U-T San Diego talks about the ScanCam in their recent article after seeing it at NRF 2013 in San Diego.

“Checkout fraud accounted for $35 billion, or one-third, of all retail shrink in 2011, and this problem is the Achilles heel of most retailers because it’s hard to spot and stop. StopLift Checkout Vision Systems and ScanCam, which were both on exhibit at the National Retail Federation Loss Prevention expo in San Diego on June 12-14, aim to cut those losses. They use different approaches, but both recognize that security cameras and weight sensors alone aren’t enough”.
